How to add rustic charm to your home

Rustic decor is a relaxed style of decor, rich in texture and character. Although it may be associated with older properties, I don’t believe you have to live in a farmhouse to weave rustic vibes into your home. Here are a few tips for how to create a ‘rustic’ look in your home:

🔹Incorporate lots of natural materials (i.e. wood, rattan, wicker, linen fabrics, jute, hessian). They bring texture and warmth to a room

🔹Shop for items with an imperfect and/ or coarse finish (e.g. items made from brushed metal, recycled glass or crackle glazed pottery)

🔹 Mix new and old items…. shop for second hand pieces.  Items that have been used before have more character and charm!

🔹 Use earthy colours - greens, griege and terracotta bring warmth and a connection to nature
