5 interior updates this Spring!

I love sprucing up my home with a few, new, considered items that give a nod to the change in seasons.   Here’s a little round up of ways you can inject some Spring vibes into your pad without spending a fortune or going overboard. This list essentially comprises of everything on my wish list at the moment! Here goes:

  1. A splash of lilac -  Lilac is the colour of the moment and it’s the perfect pastel shade for Spring décor.  I popped to Primark the other day and they have some lovely ceramics, candles and table cloths - obviously at bargain prices too! Visit Home | Primark

  2. Patterns that pack a punch -  Stripes, checks & gingham have been back on the scene for the last 12 months or so but they’re not going anywhere any time soon. You can incorporate prints and patterns into your home via kitchenware, tablecloths, soft furnishings and bedding.  Take a look at Homeware | Home & Garden | M&S (marksandspencer.com) and Homeware | Home Furnishings & Accessories | Oliver Bonas

  3. Quirky lamps -  If you don’t feel brave enough to fully embrace bold, maximalist décor, adding pops of pattern and colour via accessories and lighting is the way forward.  I’m absolutely loving Pooky at the moment and I predict other retailers will launch more pleated, patterned lamp shades and vibrant coloured bases too… or at least I hope so! Pooky.com - Beautiful decorative lighting

  4. Flower power -  Nothing says Spring better than a beautiful bouquet of tulips and hyacinths!    You can also weave floral designs into your home through cushions and art prints. If you’re looking for a more permanent solution, have a look at Lust Home – they have some really pretty wallpaper in their range, which could be used as part of a furniture upcycle, creating a feature wall or covering the ceiling (if you don’t want to paper a full room)

  5. Curve appeal -  The ‘nature inspired’ trend has brought softer, more organic shaped furniture & decor to our homes.  From scalloped trays to cylindrical side tables, smooth, wavy shapes evoke a more relaxed and informal vibe than hard edged lines. Take a look at Habitat; they have some brilliant pieces in their collection; Habitat | Sofas, furniture, lighting & home accessories.

Happy shopping!
